Using Email Contacts to Get More Facebook Page Likes

Emails have traditionally been the building blocks of every company’s marketing, but Facebook has fast become an essential sales and marketing channel for businesses, in particular many Evently customers in the entertainment industry.

Facebook recently announced additional tools for Page admins who want to promote their Facebook Page outside the platform.


Alongside options to add a Like Box to your website or blog, Page admins can now recommend a specific Page to their email contact database.

Only admins of Pages with less than 5,000 connections can use this new tool to invite their customers and web contacts to connect with their Facebook Pages.

How to Use Email Contacts to Build your Facebook Page

To upload a contact file or to import email addresses from your email provider, simply click on the Edit Page section and select the Marketing tab on the left-hand side of the Page.

The Marketing section of the Page editor tool includes different ways to promote your Page on and off Facebook. Simply click the ‘Tell you fans’ link to start connecting with your email contacts on Facebook.

There are 2 new tools that allow Page admins to import their email contacts and invite them to connect to your Page:

1. Upload a contact file

You can now upload a file containing your email contacts and Facebook will securely import your contacts. You will then be able to suggest your Page to contacts in this list. For more information about email contact importers, please visit the FAQ here.

2. Import contacts from your email provider

You can also suggest your Page to your email web contacts. Searching your email for contacts is the fastest and easiest way to find potential fans. Simply provide your web email address and password and your email web contacts will be imported and can be invited to connect with your Page.
